I still have a Springfield XD40, but with the notable exception of an EAA Witness Elite Match that I bought for Corporate Challenge, all my newer semi-auto pistols are DA/SA with a hard DA trigger pull.

There is one new wheel-gun (a Ruger SP-101 .327 with a 4-inch barrel). that I bought for a female friend of the family to use to become familiar with revolvers. It shoots everything from .32 ACP to .327 Magnum, which makes it both a fun range toy and a good gun for the glove box. What you have is a small-frame 6-shot with 95% of the muzzle energy of a .357 round, all ready to go by just pulling the trigger. Throw in a couple of speed-loaders, and you have more than enough firepower to handle any situation that you should ever find yourself in as a civilian.

Face it - if this isn't enough, then you are in the REALLY wrong place at the REALLY wrong time.
