5. As far as tracking on company provided computers its kinda expected

Especially for people like me working for a government agency like the Department of Energy. Because of potentially confidential info, my use of my company laptop is tightly regulated. I can use it at home but I connect via an encrypted VPN and of course, I cant use it for other than work.

Now, a company guard searching an employee car or belongings is another matter all together. Its pushing it too far. That should only be required for people working in classified areas where you are indeed searched randomly as you go in and out because of national security concerns. Giving any employer the power to do this is an abuse.
