1. Was this street open to traffic?

Pretty sure regardless of the message or the fact that you're protesting it's not legal to walk down the middle of a public road that's open to traffic, and that if you refuse to get out of that road when told to do so by the police, they are obligated to eventually arrest you.

If it was a closed road for a permitted protest, that's quite different of course.
