involve a shaft fitting through a hole. The kind I'm looking for has a vertical arm that when free, leans outward from the gate, not the post, and is connected to the gate. The post has the horseshoe/fork receptacle, and you have to pull the lever backward toward the gate, then let the lever return forward between the two arms of the fork to close the gate and hold it shut.
