Loose lay flooring

4. underlayment(?)

I'm walking around on plywood subfloors because I ripped up the wall to wall carpet and then decided real wood floors were too expensive. The plywood is hard on the feet, even with wearing slippers, so I'm wondering about some sort of cushioning underlayment with these do it yourself floors?
