One thing in your narrative causes me to add a remark. Someone I know linked his loss of weight to drinking lots of water. I'm not sure of his weight, maybe 350 more or less. He kept losing, kept drinking more and more water, and kept touting the effect of the water. It wasn't until he was down to skin and bones, sick in his bed, and unable to move that he was rushed to the hospital. We didn't know about diabetes.

I'm not trying to be a pessimist or a nay-sayer, just remarking on your post.
