Having to deal with a double blow at Christmastime is difficult. I can relate, as my step-dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer two weeks ago and my wife was diagnosed with liver cancer yesterday. I am no stranger to dementia, either. My mother-in-law suffered from it before she died a few years back.. It's hard to see once strong people have to struggle with the easiest of tasks. They do some very strange things, but who knows where there mind is at the time. Remember who they were and give them love. When you get a smile from them, cherish it. It means they are pleased.
