(25,680 posts)19. No shame is necessary. Many of us I'm sure regret somethings we did in our youth.
Even some things we did as adults when we knew better. You turned yourself around and now have a good and fulfilling life. I hope you have friends and family you can lean on for support.
Just know we are here for you whenever you need to reach out for support and just to express your anxieties and frustrations.

Bingo... I'm 74, never have been a drinker at all but had hepatitis 40 years ago... damage from that caused mine

There's no shame. We do what we do and we make adjustments later. The liver is amazing in it's ability to fix itself ...

I drank competitively for about 15 years, then regularly for another ten and have no liver problems.
