(603 posts)I was a nurse for violent psychiatric patients who actually had COVID pre-vaccine. Fighting all care, tearing off our inadequate PPE, not understanding why they felt so horrid.
I refused to just leave them die and gave them the best care possible, my patients survived more than patients on other floors, against all odds.
But then I got COVID I was the last nurse to get it and had a blasting viral load.
I could stand and run steps and run a building and exercise and take care of everything I needed to without any issues and no medication.
I got long covid which changed my ability to breathe and function and my life is I once knew it is over and I'm trying to adjust but it's been a hard road to hoe.
