Every time I've been attacked on the street, I've been 'dressed like a girl' [View all]

Tonight I was a Victim of Crime for what I believe is now the 11th time, and the 5th where it's been against my person. Tonight's thing wasn't violent for a change, and my property (and the suspect) was recovered within an hour - mad props to Mountain View PD - but it made me wonder Why Me?

And then, as I went over each event - 3 muggings, 1 attempted kidnaping/rape and this Grand Theft - I was wearing a dress or a skirt each time. I don't wear dresses or skirts very often, either. I wonder if there's a connection or just very weird coincidence ... but I'm wearing jeans and engineer boots tomorrow.

On edit: I'm a woman and can't pass for anything else if I tried; the 'dress like a girl' is something my friends and husband rib me with
