Is it possible that the UFOs seen by Navy pilots are metallic organisms?

So I've been checking out that show Unidentified on the History channel. It's left me with 3 theories of what might be happening: 1) Either the U.S. is lying about its capabilities, 2) we are completely and utterly outgunned by another country or planet, or 3) the pilots are observing an earthly creature.

Regarding the creature idea--it could be something that lives in an area that humans don't have access to, like super deep ocean waters. It's able to hide in plain sight due to its massive size and/or dark, fluid appearance.

Maybe it feeds off of metals or oil. Maybe they learn to do aerial maneuvers by mimicking fighter jets, but, because it's alive, it's a lot more flexible in what it can do?
