3. Introducing people to foods...

It's never easy regardless of what kind of food you give them. People have the weirdest preconceptions about foods. I used to take a different type of vegan food each week for a guy that I worked with and I to try. Another coworker saw it and took a taste of some finger food. Thought it was great and when I told him what it was he got all huffy. I just explained to him that he wasn't offered the food, he took it upon himself to try it so don't bitch about something he enjoyed.

Also had a guest one night who kept insisting I give him my personal opinion of an item on the menu. I am usually very tactful about questions regarding what's good by telling people what we sell a lot of but this guy demanded to know what *I* liked. When I explained to him that I was vegan he was outraged and called the night manager, telling him that I ruined his meal by telling him that I was vegan.

People can be just weird.
