1. This is an excellent idea. And not just canned goods.

If you have a freezer, meat will not be cheaper for a long time----they are selling off a lot of the animals because they can't feed them. If your area has local farm produce and the drought has not affected your area, start canning or freezing.

I have a feeling that this is going to be painful. And I am glad that you suggested this, since I hadn't really thought of this yet. I may have thought about it too late.
