I was amazed to find that annual leave periods in the US are inclusive of sick days off. Being UK that is totally foreign to me - agreed holiday pay of 3 or 4 weeks whatever here is completely unassociated with sick leave and that's been so at least as far back as 1962 when I started work.

The US really does need to get with the program.

edit to add - that is to the extent that if someone was signed as sick during holiday leave the number of days would remain as holiday leave still due.
