especially if the POS becomes president again and cuts Social Security and Medicare.

You're right too, for so many the problem isn't mental illness or addiction that leads to homelessness, it's not having enough money! Housing has become so expensive! If anything I think it's homelessness can cause addiction as people strive to cope with it and mental illness brought about by sleeping on the streets, which wears down people mentally and physically.
