Were you under the mistaken impression that you were posting in a place where people gave a shit about such things? This is the party that just signed off on the second reduction in food stamps in less than 6 months, who has been helping banks make record profits while the numbers of people on food stamps have increased while telling people "the economy might have gotten much worse if we didn't support the wealthy", (all the time ignoring the fact that the economy DID get worse for about 100 million people because they paid the bills for the richer ones). That makes us soooo much better than the evil low-life teabaggers, you see. And if you don't say so, we will beat YOU up, because it couldn't be the party that is the problem.

So instead of standing up against the corps and their lapdog politicians we focus on their victims, us, our neighbors, people who are being screwed each and every day, and talk about them as the problem. And when they don't vote, we say it's their fault.



We are getting EXACTLY what we asked for.

Great post anyway - some of us get it, but too few to make a difference, I suspect, despite all the clever sayings about the power of small groups.

(a side note - I was a preparer for a chain that has the felons (who sometimes have access to your tax records) in costume waving at people on the street. What a scuzzy business. Their franchising info helps you set it up so you are strategically positioned to prey on those with lower-incomes with high fees and prices. They are no better than payday loan companies. After work I would go home and take a shower to wash their stink off, then go volunteer for VITA and do tax returns at no charge. That is a group doing great work.)
