My friend said that it was the best day for Democrats in this state in the last 20 years!
That's because President Obama's speech was filled with so much hope.
Most of the people that attended this event were college students.
I would say that the majority of the audience was around 23 years old, or so.
BSU is not a typical college campus in which only students just out of high school attend for 4 years.
Instead, it is more of a college that the entire community attends, as the age of the average student is about 28 years of age.
Many "non-traditional" students return to college in their 30s, 40s, and even in to their 50s.
Nevertheless, after seeing so many young people get so energized at this event, I came away with the feeling that the Republican's grip on the majority in the state's capitol is no longer a sure thing in the very near future.
These young students "get it"; they know what it means to struggle hard to get ahead in this modern, technologically advanced world that we live in today.
Just a 20 short years ago, Idaho's economy was based on agriculture products, mining, and timber sales.
Today the majority of the state's income is derived from technology, engineering, and patents stemming from research in both technological and medical fields.
It was definitely a day to remember.
