Too many people mistake patience for weakness and push past the point of endurance.
My friend Henry the Tae Kwon Do master had the most endearing tell known only to close associates. The rare times a stranger or some kid looking for a rep forced the issue, Henry would calmly remove his precious, expensive eyeglasses and put them in his shirt pocket before tending to business.
Dad was the same way. A career military man, he rose through the ranks and had a pretty quiet air about him, as Lincoln said of Grant. But when necessary he knew "how to make people git."
