Boris Johnson has said he will "in all probability" run to become an MP at the next general election.

The Conservative London mayor added that he would serve out the remainder of his term as mayor, due to end in 2016.

David Cameron has previously said he would welcome a return to the Commons by Mr Johnson, who stood down as an MP in 2008.

Mr Johnson has been linked with the seat of Uxbridge, in north-west London.
