after one year, provided for in the mini-budget, really sucks.

Many Australians go overseas for more than a year to work, and under the new legislation, if their super is unclaimed after twelve months, they will lose it. Under current rules, it can stay in a fund for five years before going to the government. This is going to disadvantage many young Australians who may have registered in more than one fund, and it's very tacky.

Yet the baby bonus will still be paid to wealthy mothers who can afford not to work and who don't really need it.

All in the name of the surplus, which is really not important in current times.

But - an Abbott-led government is the stuff of nightmares.
