Piri demonstrated knowledge of where the scene of the crime was, and was in possession of a handgun matching the murder weapon but missing its barrel and slide which (being an enthusiast) Piri would know were needed to do a forensic analysis. Now guns are machines which can break and need replacement parts, but who tosses the old parts before replacements are in hand? His vehicle also had the relatively unusual ability to lower the rear window while in motion and he was spotted driving just ahead of the victim's truck by cameras and witnesses.

I was recently talking with a coworker about a jury he had been on. The suspect and victim had been seen by witnesses walking around to the back of a house, and the suspect walked back out front alone a couple of minutes later. Nobody saw the actual murder but he was convicted.
