1. From 1958 to 1962 I went to a public high school that had no football team.

A football player on the school’s team had died after a head injury a few years earlier. We had an excellent soccer team, played in a league with private schools from a very large geographical area. The school still doesn’t play football.

Now of course there’s fierce competition in soccer among all the public schools in the area, boys and girls.
