First of all, good luck on this vote in Ohio! I wrote postcards for the August one and this one.

We have an election every 2 years after the Legislature is finished. (not counting special sessions)

This year there are 14 and a few of them are actually very good! COLA for retired teachers, and huge adjustment to The Homestead Exemption in our Property Taxes which only applies to the owner's primary residence. is increasing from $40,000 to $100,000. Everyone will benefit but the middle class and below homeowners will see the biggest proportional reduction.

Our touch screens do not show us the count; it is on the scanner which counts every ballot as it is scanned. The touch screen voting apparatus basically has amnesia; we issue a code which brings up the correct ballot, then the voter goes to the voting equipment, keys in the code and the right ballot appears on the screen. Once the voter prints the ballot, their voting information is gone.
