Watch the actual machinations at the NCGA. It's very eye opening and extremely nap inducing all at the same time. Lots of time wasting, hob nobing and palm greasing. The reps usually spend an extended amount of time with the lobbyists downstairs before they even take the stairs to the chambers. And if you make too much noise in the gallery you risk being escorted downstairs. Lots of nothing happens until all of a sudden it does. Anything can happen or not, at the NCGA. I highly recommend a visit.
