I'm not at all surprised to have such an extreme weather shift a day later.

That's global warming! And winter.

I'm in western NC, south of Asheville. If a storm comes in from the south we tend to get hammered. If it comes from the west then it hits the NC/TN border hard and doesn't get over the mountains to hit us hard.

Power outages are the biggest threat. Stay safe.
