These thugs know that their days of unfettered beatings are about to end. They will fight this tooth and nail because they want to have that authoritarian edge. It is bad enough that these newer police have been taught that everything is cause to 'fear for my life', and that any behavior other than unquestioned worship is cause for said 'fear'. (One also has to wonder about the rethugs in the Assembly getting their usual DUIs and other transgressions and, following the usual 'two tier' justice system antics, getting out of things due to their socioeconomic influence. This is usually overridden when there is irrefutable evidence like a video of the stop. Then there is the reaction of authority to lawful protests and acts of good conscience. But I digress...)
