Deal To Reopen Lady Liberty Floated As DC Standoff Talks Continue [View all]

While the federal government shutdown continues, the Cuomo administration says the state is working on a deal to reopen the Statue of Liberty.

State officials are working to try to figure out what the move would cost.

The five boroughs have 33 sites under the jurisdiction of the federal park service, including the statue and nearby Ellis Island.

Meanwhile, there could be signs of progress on Capitol Hill as the shutdown enters its 11th day.
