3. It is odd that they voted to keep the old one, considering the implications

But I took the time to read an article and apparently it just wasn't considered important. Really? Of course, from my perspective I'm seeing a lack of GOTV and/or voter suppression...

And here in New York, you'd think the confederate symbol would be considered uniformly offensive. But the Saratoga County Fair - the county where I grew up - sells memorabilia with the confederate symbol on it. A year or two ago there was a flap about whether it should be prohibited - which I assumed would carry the day - but apparently people wanted these things and they decided to allow it.

One time I stopped to visit a good friend - lives in an apartment complex not far from me. And I spotted a pickup in her parking lot that was flying a large confederate flag! Yikes! I was so shocked that I took a picture of it! So I guess there are reactionaries - insert more appropriate word here - all over...
