3. Even though this is traditionally Republican district, I haven't seen much support for Trump

I drive a lot locally and saw exactly 2 Trump bumper stickers in my travels. There was a lot of support for Bernie Sanders since we're pretty close to Vermont, but I tend to ask people I know well enough if they vote and I don't know one single person who admits to voting for Trump. And not only did the town board gain a Democratic majority for the first time, the closest city elected a Democratic mayor. And that was only in the November election, I'm expecting a greater backlash come next fall!

And our Republican congresswoman is up for election in November, too. She's got ties to Paul Ryan and has already become extremely unpopular. There have already been numerous protests and she's taken to only releasing her schedule after-the-fact because protesters show up. Last I knew, 7 Democrats have entered the race to oppose her in November - and one Republican challenger in the primary. I remember the days when the Democrats didn't even bother to field a candidate, but this time around we have a surplus!
