And in case anyone wants to argue that the reason was probably that he was no longer going to be in a position of power so why would women continue to come forward--consider that he is still seated and that he signaled he was still planning to use his voice and influence going forward.

I think "drips" is also a good description of his false accusers.

It was all about the Senate.
