1. If the damage is from over tightening

The studs are over stretched and how the studs are fastened may be damaged as well. In the incident where the ceiling panel killed a woman the bolts were glued (if I remember correctly). These studs bolts may be glued as well. If over tightening is proved it seems the original contractor should be liable for the repair.

“The working theory is they may have been over-torqued and became damaged when somebody thought they needed to over-­tighten them,” said Tinlin.
