1. I'm not a Mainer, but have spent a lot of time in your State.

Acadia is an obvious winner. On the way there, one can stop at Camden Hills State Park where I took these shots...

And it's a drive, but going up to Jackman is a treat. Anytime you drive up the mountain, then come to a lake, it's special. Streams headed for the sea have a waterfall or rapids about every 150 feet.

When you come over the mountains and can see the valley all the way to Quebec it's absolutely stunning (pictures just don't do justice).

Anyway, I loved my time in Maine, and would visit again in a heartbeat.
