At their core, fraternities are deeply exclusionary and promote divisiveness-the antithesis of democracy. They also promote abuse. Given the continuing number of injuries and deaths that are now common from hazing incidents, it's time to move forward the relegate these outdated institutions to the past, where they belong. Lives depend on it.
