I was a bit surprised-- pleased, but still surprised-- when I learned that he was going to return to Southern Illinois to practice medicine, after finishing his residency in trauma medicine at St. Louis U. . David said, "I'm a doctor, and I'll make a good enough living, no matter where I practice, but I didn't become a doctor to get rich, I became a doctor to help people".

He's a fine young man ( and a liberal Democrat ).
