I found through many decades in high tech that software engineers have an extraordinary aptitude and passion for music. In every engineering department would be a large number of engineers with guitars or keyboards in their offices. Many others had woodwinds. It's just part of the needed skill set to be a good programmer- you need to think in a variety of languages. Most are also multi-lingual.
