Richard Simmons hospitalized in California, battling severe indigestion

2. Simmons has been a little freaky lately.

But, during his life he helped a lot of people - mainly women - lose weight and feel better about themselves.

I hope he does OK and comes out of hiding.

I met him personally one time at the International Male store in West Hollywood many, many years ago. We were in the underwear section and literally backed in to each other while hunting for some sexy briefs!

He greeted me warmly, with a big smile and went on shopping. I didn't realize how short he is.

As I left the store (he was still inside) his limousine was waiting outside on the side street by the store. The California license plates on the limo were "YRU FAT". Lol!
