Turner Classic Movies has shown an absolutely extraordinary collection of Irish-themed movies, all day today. If you tuned in this morning, you could have seen what actor James Cagney looked like---90 years ago. It's evening, and as I'm typing this, "The Quiet Man" is showing; nice performance by John Wayne, trying to adapt himself to the Emerald Isle. Some of the films qualified as antiques, they were so old; the technology and skill involved in reconstructing those ancient films is just breathtaking.

Goosebump city, all day today. Nice going, TCM. Those of you who couldn't see it today, make a point of tuning in next St. Pats Day, when it will hopefully be repeated.
