After Star Wars was released in 1977, every guy my age (nine) in the neighborhood wanted to look like Luke Skywalker. So we grew our hair out in the classic 1970s disco shag. My career military officer father complained, but didnt force me to cut it.
Now that Im almost completely bald, I wear my bald-fringe Marine-short.
