My dad had some extended periods of unemployment as he was in a high place in a small industry. He was out of work nearly all of my 9th grade. My friends noticed how happy he was... Golf, pool, nap, day drinking.. they referred to him as "gainfully unemployed". He died at 61, but he had those times.
