Many whites have used the ancestral slave issue still to be a source of shame for African Americans. That, instead of showing respect for their role in the growth of this country and the debt still owed for all that was taken from them so white people could enjoy wealth. The narrative has always been wrong in this country and that is why it will continue to fester. We are still trying to appease the South.
