8. Interesting thing about Oklahoma

They are living in a bubble. They never really experienced the recession because of the states reliance on the oil industry. There economy didn't rely on the housing boom to propel it like California's did.

Like texas the economic indicators have been largely positive while the rest of the country is in a funk. That tells them they are doing the right thing no matter how backwards that is.
