20. Taking no position on your conclusion, I think that argument is weak.

What's the point of talking about how long it would take to get somewhere on "the fastest spacecraft ever created by humans" or "a spacecraft as fast as Apollo 10?" We're not talking about humans, their biological needs, or what they have been able to accomplish (so far), we're talking about the unknown. I mean, if one were going to judge what is possible based on that kind of criteria, about 100 years ago, that argument would have been "the fastest flying machine ever created by humans hits 140 mph. At that rate..." etc. What's the point? Saying something is impossible based on any technology we are aware of does not equate to something being impossible. We do many things today that would have been considered by many to be impossible 100 years ago. And in the scheme of things, 100 years isn't even the blink of an eye.

That said, there has been lots of interesting speculation about the Fermi paradox...
