4. Yes indeed and what never gets much attention in the media

"stories" about relations between nations in that region or some of the groups is the Sunni/Shia aspect to things. Countries in the West mostly are used to the idea of Catholics and Protestants now being fairly mellow with each other but it has always been a failure on the part of the West that we see things through the lens of how we are and project that to other regions in the world and expect that is what they should strive to be.

That struggle between Sunni and Shia is very deep and important to the people who live in those nations.
