The genius of Social Security – and its creators' honesty to acknowledge some hard facts – is that there will always be a significant portion of the population unwilling or unable to plan and save for retirement; mostly lower to middle income Americans who live from paycheck to paycheck, Americans who have nothing left over to save.

Republicans want to go back to the days when we were stepping over bodies in the streets.
