And he implied that we should cut them some slack, not punitively enforce rigid rules. Right-wing people tend to read or listen to about half a sentence and then jump to conclusions. Anybody who has studied genetics will know that there are genetic variations in sexual identity, and various quotations and statues from ancient times indicate that some babies were born with unusual genitalia and sexual characteristics long ago.
