Her “boyfriend” had just broken up with her. I’d say these were probably his kids.

If you mean the "boyfriend" was the father of her kids, I doubt it. I don't remember any questions ever being raised about the paternity of those boys.

Also, from what I've read, she killed them because she thought (probably erroneously) that she might be able to get the "boyfriend" back if she was not encumbered with 2 small children. That doesn't align with the idea of the kids being his.

Edited to add: Just came across another pertinent piece of information: Tom Findlay, the boyfriend, testified at her trial, "introducing the letter he wrote Susan Smith to the jury.
