82. Germany used the same tactic in gaining public support

for concentration camps. They described the camps as temporary detainment centers for the deportation of non citizens and criminals.

The non citizens turned out to be Jews AFTER their citizenship was revoked. The criminals turned out to be anyone who disagreed with the Nazi police state.

The camps and ghettos were intentionally squalid, lacking food and sanitation, so that people would die off from disease and starvation while being used as slave labor. When the survivors were deported, it was to death camps.
