In reply to the discussion: DeSantis orders Florida National Guard, State Guard to intervene in port strike [View all]paleotn
(19,427 posts)25. Bingo. With the volume most US ports handle daily....
it's a finely tuned choreography of containers and haulers. Really a site to behold. But throw in a bunch of guys who don't know what the hell they're doing and it's gonna be chaos. Shipping companies anticipated the strike and started rerouting what they could to west coast ports a week or more prior. What they couldn't will avoid Florida ports like the plague rather than swing at anchor while tweedle dee and tweedle dum try to figure it out. DeSantis has no idea how modern supply chains work. What a maroon.

This is a common right wing talking point..... they have to work a lot of overtime to make as much as that.

Yup and it's a wasted opportunity as it would have earned them alot of positive PR which they need.

Well, If O'Brien Was The Union President, This Could Result In More Votes for DeSantis.

Perhaps This Will Impress The Unions To Support Desantis Like Some Teamsters Support Trump?
