There are at least two major bird areas where this is happening--Newport Back Bay and Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. And at this time of year birds will be migrating back down here for the winter. Between getting the oil on them directly, the loss/contamination of their food supply (the fish), this will be devastating for them.
