(7,908 posts)voting for the lesser of two evils. IOW, the objective of all progressive-minded folk should be to prevent the consolidation of a one-party state under the control of the fascists. If that means one must cast one's ballot for a member of the bourgeoisie like Hillary, so be it. Better her than a one-party fascist state.
FWIW, I plan to support and vote for Bernie Sanders if he changes his party registration to Democratic to enter the lists. (And as far as I'm concerned, Sanders isn't sufficiently far enough left to suit my tastes!
The German Communist Party and Social Democrat Party refused to work together with one another to oppose Hitler. (In fact, the German Communist Party welcomed Hitler's ascent to power as an 'ice-breaker' that would herald the proletarian revolution.) We've seen what a failure to oppose the consolidation of a one-party fascist state has done in the past and, imo, we must do everything in our power to prevent it from happening ever again.
Do you think I'm over-exaggerating or engaging in hyperbole when I call today's Republican Party 'fascist'?
On an unrelated note, I'm blown away at all the work you've done compiling the catalogue of links. But is there a purpose to presenting them here? I'm assuming there is and I'm just a bit slow on the uptake tonight.
